If the temperature in your home is cooler, resistance would be subtracted.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Main control testing<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><i>LIVE VOLTAGE WARNING: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this test, the washer needs to be plugged in and powered on. Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reconnect the MI3 connector and identify the DI6 connection on the main control.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to Volts DC mode, indicated by a V with a dotted line.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug the washer back in, press the power button, and place the red probe on DI6 pin 5 and the black probe on MI3 pin 1.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verify the multimeter reads around 5 Volts DC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Switch the multimeter to Volts AC mode, symbolized by a V with a squiggly line.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Start a wash cycle and place the probes on DI6 pins 1 and 3 after the door completes its final lock.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verify the multimeter reads 120 Volts AC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If voltage is absent at either test point, replace the main control.
