Test the rotor positioning sensor (RPS)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><i>LIVE VOLTAGE WARNING: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this test, the washer needs to be plugged in and powered on. Please be very careful to protect yourself from electric shock, which has the potential to cause serious injuries. Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to DC Volts (V with two lines on top).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert the multimeter probes into the White and Grey terminals of the RPS connector.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug the washer back in.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Close the washer door.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the POWER button, but do not press START.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for a voltage reading of 10 to 15 VDC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the reading is 0 VDC, test the motor harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the motor harness is intact, replace the Main PCB.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the multimeter probe from White to Blue while keeping the other probe on Grey.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Slowly rotate the motor rotor manually.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for a pulsing voltage reading of around 10+ VDC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the probe from Blue to Red and repeat the test.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for a pulsing voltage reading of around 10+ VDC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If both tests show pulsing 10+ VDC, the RPS is functioning properly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the voltage remains steady at 10VDC, the RPS is faulty and must be replaced.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 3. Test the resistance for confirmation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><i>NOTE: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generally, for every 1 degree in temperature difference, 2 Ohms could be added or subtracted. If the temperature in your home is cooler, resistance would be subtracted.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unplug the washer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to KOhms (\u03a9 symbol).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the resistance between the White and Red wires at the disconnect plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the resistance between the White and Blue wires at the disconnect plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Readings should be between 8 to 12 KOhms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the reading is outside this range, the RPS is defective.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 4. Remove the rotor positioning sensor (RPS)<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a 17 mm socket wrench and a mallet to loosen the center rotor bolt.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unscrew and remove the bolt completely.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grip the rotor and shake it side to side while pulling it off.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wear gloves to prevent pinching your skin.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a 10 mm socket wrench to remove all bolts securing the stator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hold the stator carefully to prevent it from falling.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flip the stator over and disconnect the four-wire harness plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a flat-blade screwdriver to release the RPS from the stator.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 5. Install the new rotor positioning sensor (RPS)<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Clip the new RPS onto the stator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reconnect the harness plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Align the stator holes and insert the bolts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tighten the bolts manually.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a 10 mm socket wrench to fully secure the bolts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 6.
