Don\u2019t ever test live voltage if you\u2019re uncomfortable using a multimeter.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to Volts DC (V with two lines on top).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert probes into White and Grey terminals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug in the washer but do not press Start.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the Power button.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for 10-15 VDC. If the reading is 0 VDC, test the motor harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the harness is good but the voltage is 0, replace the Main PCB.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 2. Test the RPS signal output<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the probe from White to Blue while keeping the second probe on Grey.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Manually rotate the rotor and observe for a pulsing 10+ VDC.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the probe from Blue to Red and repeat the test.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If both tests show pulsing 10+ VDC, the RPS is good.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If either test shows steady or no voltage, replace the RPS.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 3. Test the resistance for RPS<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><b><i>NOTE: <\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Generally, for every 1 degree in temperature difference, 2 Ohms could be added or subtracted. If the temperature in your home is cooler, resistance would be subtracted.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unplug the washer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to KOhms (\u03a9, horseshoe sign).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Test resistance between White and Red and then White and Blue.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the reading is not between 8-12 KOhms, replace the RPS.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 4. Test the motor harness<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unplug the washer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Use a 17mm socket wrench and mallet to loosen and remove the center bolt of the rotor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wiggle and pull off the rotor carefully.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate the motor harness connected to the stator (three-wire plug) and RPS (four-wire plug).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Find the motor harness connectors secured in a plastic bag inside the cabinet.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to continuity mode (Wi-Fi symbol).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert one probe into the Blue wire at the disconnect plug and the other into the Blue wire at the Stator plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is no continuity, repair or replace the harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Repeat the continuity test for the Yellow and Red wires.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Test all four RPS wires for continuity in the same manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If any wire lacks continuity, replace the motor harness.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 5. Test the stator<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unplug the washer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate the three-wire stator plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to Resistance mode (\u03a9, horseshoe sign).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert one probe into the Blue wire connector and the second into the Red slot.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for a reading between 5-15 Ohms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the probe from Blue to Yellow and check for the same reading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the probe from Red to Yellow and check for the same reading.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If any of the windings are out of range, replace the stator.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 6. Inspect the rotor<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Visually inspect the rotor for cracks, missing magnets, or damage.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the rotor is damaged, replace it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Step 7. Test the main PCB<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set the multimeter to Volts DC (V with two lines on top).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insert probes into White and Grey terminals on the RPS plug.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plug in the washer, but do not press Start.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Press the Power button.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check for 10-15 VDC.
