This is where the existing power cable connects to the dishwasher&#8217;s control board.<\/li>\n<li>Disconnect the old cable by simply pulling it free from the connector block.<\/li>\n<li>Insert a strain relief into the open junction box port and use pliers to firmly tighten it in place. This will protect the new cable.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2 &#8211; Install the junction box<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose a suitable location under the sink away from the dishwasher. This junction box can\u2019t be placed behind the appliance.<\/li>\n<li>Feed the new cable through the hole in the divider wall. Pull it through toward the planned junction box location.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the existing old cable so that it\u2019s long enough to reach the junction box. Leave a bit extra to insert it through the strain relief.<\/li>\n<li>Use wire strippers to strip the insulation from the wire ends of the old and new cables.<\/li>\n<li>Connect matching wires: black to black, white to white, ground to ground.
