Replaced the motor brush

Replaced worn motor brushes. Replaced Speed Control Plate. Adjusted Stir speed and position 6 speed after replacement of Speed Control Plate. Also adjusted mixer height to bowl. Runs like a new KitchenAid. Thanks AppliancePartsPros.com for great diagrams, parts and quick ship times. 

CHAING PARTS 

Replaced deteriorated power cord, and checked speed control plate. Speed control plate bottom contact was open in all speed positions. Readjusted contact arm to eliminate problem. Then reassembled and readjusted speed control as per manual. While I had the machine disassembled, I also checked grease, and replenished. 

Used video on internet to disassemble Kitchenaid mixer And replaced grease. 

I simply took my wife's kitchenaid mixer apart to determine which gear had failed. Once I diagnosed the failure, it was easy to find the right parts on the website to make the repair. 

I just replaced the contacts and away we went. It wAs a 24 year old appliance. When I saw the price of a new one, I started to investigate solutions. 14 bucks sure beat 400.
