I ordered an 8" burner element and the burner receptacle kit -- both were "fried" and not useable. It took off the wire nuts previously used to hook up the old receptacle. I cut off less that an inch from each of the wiring harness wires to get a clean end to work with. I put the receptacle together and twisted on the wire nuts. At first the wire nuts never snugged up tight but just kept spinning around like a screw with stripped threads. I tried other wire nuts I had on hand, but they were too big for the heat shrink tubing to fit over. So... I went back and put the wire nuts that came with the kit back on, a bit more gently. I shrunk the heat shrink tubing with matches and put the screw in to hold the receptacle in place. Once the new burner was installed, I turned the power back on to the stove and wallah... it works. I'm still not totally confident about those wire nut connections. I might get new heat shrink tubing big enough for the wire nuts I have that really seem to tighten up on the connection... and re-do them... some time. Right now it works, so there's no pressure to do that ;-)
