How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094571 / 285871 Tub To Pump Hose

Replaced internal drain hose. and while I was in there I changed some known wear items. water pump,direct drive coupling tub to pump hose and a spring 

Washer was about 7 years old and was leaking from bottom when tub had water in it. The hose from the pump motor to tub had a crack so I replaced it. While the machine was open, I also went ahead and replaced the long drain hose that went from the pump motor to the drain and also the pump motor as well. I also ended up replacing my hot and cold water inlet hoses from the wall to unit as those looked worn as well. 

A family friend had an issue with his washing machine when he started the washer water went everywhere. I went over and we had found that something had chewed a hole in all the plastic hoses. I ordered the hoses and we relaxed them and all is well..I have used these parts for a number of repairs and they have all seemed to work and saved me a ton of money over the years. 

I leaned the washer against the wall so I could get under it. Using a flashlight I found the leak was obviously the hose from the tub to the pump. I ordered my part from appliance pros thinking I had a couple days before having to do anymore work. Unfortunately for me the part arrived very quickly and I had to start working on the washer the next day. Using pliers I removed the hose hose brackets because they were pinch clamps. I put the new hose on with the new clamps and tightened them with a screwdriver. I looked like a hero to the family who was waiting on clean clothes. 

Replaced both inlet and outlet side of pump hoses. Removing the machine cover was the most difficult part of the entire project, and it was not hard at all after watching your "How to" videos. Thanks for excellent service. 

I was looking for videos on how to determine the problem and I saw the appliance parts pros video on youtube and visited your website, which is very users friendly. I am a 57 years old woman that has NEVER repaired an appliance before , but when I saw the video that shows you what to do step by step ( which is AWESOME) I thought I’ll give it a try and save some money. So I went to the store, I got some tools, and fixed it , no more water under my washer machine! thank God !! My laundry room is very small so it took me 4 1/2 hrs to finish but it is ok , I learned a lot about washing machines. Thank you very much appliance parts pros !! 

Very simple to remove pump spring clamps and reattach new one. Because I was replacing hoses I didn't remove old ones at the pump. Reattaching the new outlet hose required me to purchase a new hose clamp (hose did not come with one) as old one used the pinch style and I prefer the screw/nut driver kind. Job took about 10 minutes once cabinet removed. Full disclosure: I had removed cabinet several years ago for a different repair and knew the ropes. Furthermore, if one can avoid removing the panel and cabinet do so. It requires an hour or so to clear space in cramped quarters, release the screws/spring clamps, lift off and store the cabinet in a larger room, and then reverse the process. Access is available underneath but space and weight of machine make this a riskier proposition. I ultimately found out the leak (not totally isolated) is in the wall probably the result of a drain pipe freeze over winter. However, I now have new drain pump and tub/outlet hoses at a very reasonable price and FAST service. 

Tipped washer back, detached clips holding drain hoses and drain pump. Found hard wire punctured main drain hose and impeller blades were worn inside the drain pump. Looked up model schematics on appliancepartspros.com. Very helpful to match the exact parts needed. Placed my order and two days later received all parts as ordered. Repairs took 20 minutes to install the new parts and washer was back running 100%! 

Ordered hose from Appliance Pros,removed clamps and hose,installed new hose with new clamps and 'Viola!'...leak is fixed! 

Followed the instructions to remove covers to machine. Found water a the back of the washer at the floor where the water valve/vacuum break is located. Ordered parts, replaced the parts and no water leak. The KitchenAid Washer and Dryer is 28 yeasrs old. Since the parts and instruction videos are easy to followed I ordered extra parts to rebuild the pair. Will be placing orders for more parts to have extra parts as needed, and to repair my son/daugher-in-law washer and dryer as well. Appliancepartspros have helped me tremendously. Richard Battles
