Basically, started taking out screws until the unit split in 2. At that point it was obvious that the worm gear was bad. Google searched "Kitchen Aid mixer", and was directed to AppliancePartsPros.com. Found the schematic quickly, found the part and placed the order. Couldn't have been easier. Thanks!!!
