1 Answer John, the check ball acts as a check during water flow in the unit in conjunction with the pump. Read More...
Ronald May 06, 2018 for Model Number GSD4000N00BB Can the filter ball go bad? I have a white one. Sure doesn't seem as though anything is wrong with it.
1 Answer Ronald, Typically the filter ball will not go bad but could become smaller and would need to replace if this is the case. Read More...
Gedwman March 30, 2015 for Model Number GSD4060R15SS I had asked you previously about my dishwasher issue with it not draining like it is supposed to. I changed out the entire motor-pump assembly but to no avail. However, I have still not received the sump chamber ball that I was missing initially. Would that be the finally piece in the jigsaw that helps solve this case? Thanks for your prompt response on the earlier problem.
1 Answer Gedwman, The filter ball would not have any bearing on the unit not draining. You will want to check to make sure that the drain hose is not clogged. If a new disposal has been installed make sure that the knock out was taken out of the disposal where the drain would go. Make sure that the drain hose goes to a 32" loop before going to the sink drain. Read More...
Gedwman March 23, 2015 for Model Number GSD4060R15SS The Unit is five years old and is not draining properly. Checked and cleaned the drain, the drain hoses, the air gap and the hose back to the garbage disposal. Also, checked the Pump motor and the drain solenoid and they come on correctly but it just doesn't drain. I am missing the chamber ball (orange ball) that I have ordered separately from GE. Would that be the problem or is it the drain pump assembly?
1 Answer Hello Gedwman, This sounds more like an issue with the drain valve inside the sump assembly. This is only available by ordering the complete pump and motor assembly WD26X10034. Read More...
Mike February 26, 2015 for Model Number GSD3300N10CC Does the filter ball affect the draining of the dishwasher and if so does it sit in the drain opening of the sump area?
Denny December 01, 2013 for Model Number HDA2000V00WW Old Motor runs through all cycles, but it will not drain, have checked disposal to see that the knock out had been removed, have blown air through the drain tube,(drain tube is open) have taken the Impeller assembly apart, (parts show little if any wear at all)have checked the solenoid,& it works up & down to open the drain flap Per your Tech's advice I ordered,& installed a new motor/pump assembly, still will not drain. This Dishwasher was purchased as a "Used Item", so I was rechecking the motor/pump picture(#3), & noticed I'm missing an" Orange Ball Filter " could the missing piece be the cause of my problem !?, if so where does the ball filter sit?
1 Answer Hello Denny. If there is power to the pump, but it does not drain, replace the drain pump on the unit. Read More...

Big A. September 19, 2012 for Model Number GSD4060N10SS Hello, I put the ball back on the right side, and it made chattering sound, and still not draining. How do I fix this?
1 Answer Hi. The ball is in the wrong side. It goes into the top of the nozzle tube on the left side of the sump inlet part # WD18X10039. If the ball has gotten chewed up by the motor chopper blade it causes the noise mentioned. Orange ball part # WD12X10408. Thank You. Read More...
Ed V. January 13, 2012 for Model Number GSC3500N10BB In a quest to locate a chattering, I disassemble the pump. When I removes the chamber collection (AP3994906) from the Sump Inlet, the Ball Filter(AP4030236)unexpectedly rolled out on the floor. Upon reassembly,I placed the ball in the left chamber of the Chamber Collection. Mistake. Prevented pump out,had to bail out water twice. Where does it go? Thanks for you time.
1 Answer Hi Ed. This is shown to be placed under the sump cap on the rt. side. Ball filter part # WD12X10408. Thank You. Read More...
