Megan, There is a wire harness that comes thru the bottom of your door and as time goes on these wire can break.I would suspect this is your problem.Just pull off your bottom cover find your harness where it goes into the bottom of your door and give the wires a tug test individually.Only repair is to wire them back together.

David T. for Model Number GSL25JFPABS

I have bought a new control board for my refrigerator. I notice that the new control board has a grounding wire and the old control board doesn't have a grounding wire. When I installed the new board I just attached the grounding wire to one of the screws that screw to the body of the refrigerator. My other issue is that, after installing the new board, my freezer side works just fine, but my refrigerator side is not getting cold. I noticed the flapper door on the top that lets the cold air from the freezer side over to refrigerator side is not opening. Before I installed the control board, the refrigerator side worked just fine. The freezer side had a defrost problem. I have changed out the heater and thermistor to narrow down to the control board problem, but now I have another problem. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Thank you

Hello David, You have connected the ground wire correctly. If frost is still on the coils the issue will be the frost build up on the coils preventing the circulation of air from the freezer side to the fresh food side. You should be aware that the defrost circuit can only defrost a normal amount of frost between defrost cycles and if an excess frost had occurred, the frost will have to be removed with a hair dryer or steamer before normal operation can occur again. If the frost has been removed you should check the defrost heater WR51X10055 and defrost thermostat WR50X10068 assemblies since one of them could be the source of the problem.

Joseph, check the micro switch that is attached to the lever in your dispenser, it may be defective, if it checks out, you would want to replace the control board.

Jim, yes the part wr55x1094p does control the defrost system, if you are having defrost issues, make sure the defrost heaters are working properly and the defrost bimetal is closed before replacing the control.

Jim, Based on your post description and information, the issue is most likely in the Control Board WR55X10942C / WR55X10942P. Check and make sure the outlet is a polarized, grounded 120 VAC outlet, then replace the control board. Since it's an intermittent issue, it's most likely a weak solder joint or circuit " tracer" on the control board.

Chris, For this issue check the wiring harness at the bottom of the door to make sure that there are no loose or damaged connections. If this checks ok then the dispenser control board will be the issue. The part number for the dispenser control board will be WR55X10306.
