1 Answer Hello djedje, thank you for contacting APP, The unit running but the igniter not coming on could be due to the relay on the Main Control EBR76542912 not closing, the Hi-Limit Thermostat(new part marked CR-7) or Safety Thermostat(new part marked CS-7) in the Thermostat Kit AGM30045804 being open, the Flame Detector/Sensor 6501EL3001A being open, the centrifugal switch in the Drive Motor not closing, or an issue with the Main Harness EAD60870407. The thermostats and flame detector can all be checked for continuity with the unit unplugged or turned off at the breaker and the component in question disconnected from the harness via a multi-meter to verify if they are open or closed, all of these should be closed at room temperature. Sammy February 12, 2024 for Model Number DLEX2501V I have a new high limit thermostat and cant see any distiguishing mark to tell where the red and white wires go. I watched video and it show where they go but you can turn the thermostat either way . does it matter really what way the wires go on?
1 Answer Sammy, There is no specific placement of the wires on the thermostat. You can plug either wire into either terminal. Read More...
Barbara August 18, 2023 for Model Number 5301 Dryer was not heating sufficiently to dry clothes. We replaced the heating assembly (Part # EL1001H).The heating assembly gets red hot and glowed, so we shut it off. What would you recommend we do next?
1 Answer Hello Barbra, one of the more common causes of poor/long drying is a venting issue, clogged, overlong, kinked. You can view additional possible causes at this link,https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uC5MUsvDjg&t=8s. Read More...
Oliver February 22, 2023 for Model Number 79681362910 Hi, My dryer is staking a long time to dry. I have to place it on extra dry. I already checked the vent all cleaned and removed the heating element and checked for continuity all checked. I just noticed an error code after the machine finishes a cycle "d90" I was thinking about replacing heating element and thermostat. What do you recommend? Any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
1 Answer Oliver, The error D90 or D95 indicates your dryer has detected a 90% to 95% blockage in the ductwork. Check the ducting for crimps and debris, and also check to make sure the vent is made of 4" rigid pipe all the way outside. Also check the filter, filter housing, and blower wheel for proper operation and that it is clear of lint and debris also. Read More...
Mike November 23, 2022 for Model Number LG DLEX8100V I started drying a load of clothes dryer never shut off. It stopped heating but runs always so long as it is plugged into power. It shuts off when the door is open but begins running as soon as the door is closed. Heat does not come on no matter what is set on dryer control.
1 Answer Mike, Thanks for the question!!! The running all the time would be caused by a stuck relay on the control board EBR76519513. As for the no heat, it could be the same but here is a link to our YouTube for a no heat troubleshooting video: https://youtu.be/B2KdV4lpvRQ Read More...
James February 11, 2022 for Model Number DLEX4270V Should the dryer thermal fuse be removed to test it?
Ky April 16, 2021 for Model Number DLEX5680W The dryer is giving a D80 error and takes a couple loads to fully dry. I cleaned the vent and ran a test and it errored again. I removed flexible vent duct from the dryer to the wall and reran a test load and I still got an error. I replaced the thermistor assembly, thermostat, and high limit thermostat and ran a test cycle and it still errors. Could it possibly be the control board?
1 Answer Hello Ky, the control board is seeing a heating problem, if the airflow is not blocked and those parts have been replaced, the next step is to check the dual heater element if one element has failed. Read More...
Mike February 06, 2021 for Model Number LG DLE7177WM I own an LG DLE7177WM dryer and the High Limit Thermostat has died twice. I've checked for 240 at the plug, ground and continuity on both elements of the heating assembly, and replace the thermistor. What could cause the high limit thermostat to blow twice and/or what else should I be checking for?
1 Answer Mike, if the vents and ducts are clear where airflow through the dryer is able to go through properly, the failure would be in the main control 6871EL1013A. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued and is no longer available. Read More...
Jorge September 17, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore Dryer 796.80272900 Is there a top and bottom to the High Limit Thermostat. I saw that the Red goes on the top and White goes on the bottom, but both sides look the same.
1 Answer Jorge, the wires can be placed at either terminal of this part and it would operate properly. Read More...
Bill August 21, 2020 for Model Number lg dryer dle3777w i replaced thermostat lgc6931el3003d it dried one load and now wont heat
1 Answer Bill, with the power cord unplugged, the main control 6871EC1121E would need to be tested at the black wire for main incoming voltage to the blue wire at connection WH3 for continuity. If there is continuity, the main control has failed, unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If there is not continuity, the next step would be to test the thermistor 6323EL2001B using the wires located on the 6 pin connector. From the blue wire at pin 3 to the red wire at pin 6, the resistance should measure 11.7KO at 70°F, 9.3KO at 80°F, and 7.7KO at 90°F. If the thermistor fails, it would need to be replaced. If the thermistor does not fail testing, the blower housing would need to be inspected for lint build-up and the heater assembly 5301EL1001A would need to be tested from each terminal to the shell to identify if a coil has grounded out. If the element does have a grounded coil, it would need to be replaced. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the heater and it is no longer available. Read More...
