Dennis April 07, 2017 compressor start relay qp2-4.7g12 ceramic disc inside broken. I find lots of qp2-4.7 without the g12 at end for much cheaper - difference? interchangeable? Can I buy the $5 one and just put the ceramic disc in my current one, is that whole relay likely bad?
1 Answer Hello Dennis, The difference is in the amperage your particular compressor pulls during start-up. You should use the one recommended by the manufacturer for your model number to prevent causing a possible fire hazard. Do not use a start relay that has been taken apart and re-assembled as this will be a hazard to you, your appliance, and possibly your home.
