Kaye Elle May 15, 2020 for Model Number Samsung refrigerator Evaporated fan is making a lot of noise. When door is opened it stops. Unplugging the fridge overnight helps for a few days. Two years ago repairman repaired the same thing, we have the old replacement part Box, Assembly cover dA9708724N. Can you advise if this is all needed to repair it, or would he have replaced the fan or something else too? Thanks!
1 Answer Kaye E, Yes this is the part needed and it comes with the fan already attached. DA97-08724N Read More...
Fred January 13, 2020 for Model Number RS265TDRS I removed the evaporator cover in the refrigerator side because it was iced over and stopped the fan. I let it thaw out real good for a day and snapped the panel back on, but the fan does run. Should the fan start running right away, check with door open and closed. Is the fan motor bad or does it take awhile before the fan starts. thank you.
1 Answer Fred, The doors need to be closed for the evaporator fan(s) to run. "The door switches control the evaporator fan motors. Have them closed to test the motors. Delay time at least 10 – 60 seconds." It may be easier to tape the door switches down(closed) if the motor(s) don't start and run in a few minutes, then check for the 7 to 12 VDC to the fan motor from the main control board to determine if the fan motor has failed, or the main power board is at fault. James May 25, 2018 for Model Number Samsung RS265TDBP How do I remove the refrigerator cover? I removed the screws, but the cover doesn't want to budge. We have a very noisy fan motor, but not sure which one it is.
1 Answer Hello James, If the cover is frozen in place you may need to unplug the unit for a few days with the door propped open to allow it to thaw out. Otherwise, you would need to use a steamer or hair dryer to thaw it out so the cover can be removed without breaking the insulation. If the insulation is broken, the entire evaporator cover assembly will have to be replaced since it is not made available individually by the manufacturer. Read More...
Brad June 26, 2017 for Model Number RS265TDBP/XAA My fan area keeps freezing up and I need to unplug and defrost the unit. Wondering if I replace the fan mechanism would that correct this issue? Looking at ordering part number AP5915048.
1 Answer Brad, If there is ice that is building around the top of the evaporator that is getting into the fan and stopping it then this would most likely be a sealed system issue that would require service. If there is not then the cover assembly would be the correct replacement part. Read More...
Luis August 11, 2016 for Model Number RS263TDRS/XAA Hello, Does this part includes the evaporator fan, lights, and any other component like it's shown in the picture, or it's just the cover? Thank you in advance for your help,
Gary May 12, 2016 for Model Number RS265TDWP/XAA Getting a lot of condensation in the refrigerator during the warmer months. Is there a heater element that prevents this?
1 Answer Hello Gary. No, you need to check and see if the door gaskets are not sealing good and allowing warm air into the unit. Read More...
Derek F July 27, 2015 for Model Number RS265TDBP/XAA Hello, my refrigerator evaporator iced up to the point the evap fan was hitting the ice. Eventually the fan stopped so the refrigerator could no longer cool. I removed the evaporator cover, and noticed the wires that connect the evaporator to the main unit were closed in the evaporator cover (part AP5328951). This left a dent in the Styrofoam cover, as well as the flexible foam seal around the evaporator cover. The icing mainly occurred right beside the damaged seal, so I think it might have been caused by warm air coming in and melting/refreezing. I see the entire evaporator cover is not available, do you sell replacement foam stripping to replace the factory soft foam that is deformed?
1 Answer Derek, Unfortunately the gasket for the cover is not available as a separate part but the cover is available. The part number for the cover is DA97-08724N which is a manufacturers direct replacement from DA97-08724N. Read More...
