Kevin, if the test button on the ice maker is pressed, the valve should be activated for close to 9 seconds at the end of the harvest test. If the valve is activated for close to 9 seconds and the ice maker does not fill properly, the valve in the filter housing DA97-11435A has failed.

Dale, if the fill tube is blocked up with ice, the heater would be the cause. If it is not blocked up with ice, the freezer temperature would need to be verified as being at 0°F for the ice maker to properly harvest. If it is at a proper temperature, the ice maker will have a test button on the bottom of the motor that can be pressed. After it completes the test, water should fill the tray. If it does not but the valve could be heard, the valve has failed. If it does fill, the ice maker would be the likely cause of failure.

Rebecca, If the icemaker is not filling with water then you will want to check to see if there is 120 Vac getting to the water valve when the icemaker is supposed to fill with water. If there is power then replace the water valve and if there is not power then replace the icemaker. The valve is located at the bottom of the door.

Joel, the heater of the fill tube only operates long enough to keep the tubing warm immediately following a fill cycle. For water to be freezing up as it is, the failure would be in the water valve of the filter housing DA82-02866A.

Paul, the right-hand tubing with the brown wired solenoid is going to be going to the freezer ice maker. If it is the tubing DA97-05362C that is leaking, it is certainly recommended that it be changed out. However, if it is the plastic casing of the valve DA97-07695A that is leaking, it would need to be changed.

Bill Prince for Model Number RS25H5111SR/AA

4 year old side-by-side Samsung Refrigerator with Ice Maker, and ice/water dispenser in the door. Doesn't get water into to the ice maker, therefore no ice is made. - Water dispenser in door works just fine. - Disconnected water supply tube plastic coupler behind bottom molding, and can blow air thru the hose. Can hear it at water inlet end opening above ice maker inside freezer door.. - Have operated the re-set on the ice maker itself several times. Plastic lever drops and rises when re-set button is depressed, but no change. Is it the ice maker unit itself or something else? Thank You

Bill, The water pipe/fill tube and the ice maker are very good possibilities, but the more likely issue, for the symptoms you described is a failed ice maker solenoid on the DA62-02360B / DA62-02360B Refrigerator water inlet valve. If you have a multimeter or test light, you can disconnect the wiring harness for the valve, place your meter leads in/on the terminals of the cabinet wire harness, and cycle the ice maker, if you read 120 VAC across the wires to the solenoid, then the ice maker and wiring are OK, and replace the fill valve.
