Dick March 15, 2017 for Model Number WF419AAW/XAA-0000 The excellent "how to install" video mentions that there is a balance ring on the rear as well as the front. Someone else asked if 2 rings need to be ordered, and the answer was 1. Does the rear one not fail? Is it the same part as the front? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Dick, I'm sorry but the rear balancer has been discontinued by the manufacturer and no satisfactory substitutions have been provided. The front balance ring DC97-12135A is still available individually. Read More...
Lois October 15, 2016 for Model Number Samsung WG328AARXAA Was running washer and in spin cycle heard a loud crash and ran and it was spinning making a crashing sound and smelled something burnt.. I opened the door removed articles and ran on spin with no items, no noise but tub is not even when spinning . I would appreciate you thought. Thank you, Lois
1 Answer Lois, It sounds as though the spider, which is the part that holds the inner tub up has broken and would have to be replaced. The spider part number is DC97-14875B. Read More...
Chris September 14, 2016 for Model Number WF350ANR/XAA-0000 Does it need 1 or 2 balancer rings? The diagram shows 1 , but I have seen in other places showing 2 . Thank you Chris
Lacey August 27, 2016 My last several washes had a sandy or j like substance in them and it started walking really bad. Could this have been the balancer crumbling up? Samsung wf218/xaa
1 Answer Lacey, Yes the unit could behave in this fashion if the balancer is damaged. You will want to check he balance ring to make sure that it is not broken or damaged. Read More...
Jt June 23, 2016 for Model Number WF350ANWXAA02 During spin makes a noise. I opened the door and there was a small amount of smoke in the tub. I have the tub disassembled and have the Balancer Assy out. How can I tell if this part is bad?
1 Answer Hello JT. You would look for a hole in it. As for the issue, the bearings are bad and you will need to replace the spider DC97-15491A and the outer tub DC97-15328L on the unit. Read More...
Dominic June 21, 2016 for Model Number Wf331anw/xaa The tub seems to be off axis, varied gap between gasket and steel lip, 0 clearance to .5" when rotated. Supposed break sounds in front ring, no shimmy or bearing rattle when shaken. Run spin test, 9E1 code, knocks violently at high speed and stops. Levelled twice. No leak from bearing area. Is this just a spider issue?
1 Answer Hello Dominic. You will need to replace the spider and the bearings on the unit. Read More...
James February 14, 2016 for Model Number WF218ANB/XAA Model WF218ANB/XAA. During spin makes a noise. opened the door and there was a small amount of smoke in the tub. Also clothes did not drain properly, Removed the pump filter and had shredded white plastic in the filter. What could this be and what parts would I need?
2 Answers Hello James, You will need to make sure nothing is between the tubs and the spin basket is not contacting the door boot. Spinning the spin basket by hand will normally give away anything between the tubs and removing the main top will show if the tub assembly is not hanging properly. If the sound is a loud roar, the spin bearings will require service. Read More...

2 Answers James, WIth the white plastic shavings in the drain then this will most likely be a flange that has broken which is part number DC97-14875B. You may also want to check the front tub to make sure that it has not worn out the front. This will most likely be the case and would be recommended to replace the front tub. The front tub assembly part number is DC97-08650H. Read More...
Jim December 01, 2015 for Model Number WF338AAW/XAA When you purchase do you need to purchase two (one for front and one for back) or are both in the assy?
Jim December 01, 2015 for Model Number WF338AAW/XAA Washer still out of balance. Bearing noise is gone. Spin balance is off and you can hear what sounds like debris (from the degraded spider flange) when you rotate by hand. I took the balancer off of the inner tub. Should it be full of fluid? Should the ball bearings move freely?
1 Answer Hello Jim. It is not filled with fluid. It only has a small amount inside it. The balls should roll around in there, but they should have some resistance on them. Read More...
