Re: Infinite Switch DG44-01002A / Part # AP4337066 The original infinite switch has 9 terminals and 8 wires. The part I got (DG44-01002A) has 7 terminals. The wires I have are: Right side looking from back of switch, top to bottom: P1 - Double red S1 - Yellow I think ( can't see it well in the picture) P2 - Double Black Bottom of switch, right to left: S2 - Blue 4a - Darker Yellow or orange 4 - Brighter yellow Left side of switch bottom to top: Is it still 4? - Violet and Grey 2 - Blue Which wires need to be spliced together in order to connect all 8 wires to 7 terminals? Thanks.

Chris, Based on what can be seen there is still the same number of connections between the 2 switchs. It sounds like the gray wire may just need to be taped off and not used on the new configuration.

Brian for Model Number FTQ386LWX

Hello, I ordered a DG44-01002a switch for my stove. I read all Q&A but I still don’t know what to do with extra yellow wire. The old switch has 9 terminals but only use 8 of them however the new one only has 7 terminals. At old switch the terminal “4A” is connected to the orange wire. The terminal ”4” has two taps (terminal near “4A” is connected to the yellow wire and terminal near “2” is connected to violet and gray wires which already crimped together). The terminal “2” has two taps but only one is used and it is connected to the blue wire. What do I do with the yellow wire? I can purchase a 2 to 1 connector for the yellow wire but I need to know which terminal to connect. Option1: All three wires (violet, gray and yellow) go to terminal “4” (with 2 to 1 connector) Option2: Yellow and orange wires go to terminal “4A” (with 2 to 1 connector) Option3: Not connect the yellow wire (I don't like this option) Thanks!

Brian, The P1 will get the double red wire, S1 will get the black and brown wire, P2 Will get double black wire, S2 will get the blue wire, 4a gets the violet wire, the 4 will get the yellow and violet w/grey stripe, and the number 2 terminal will get the blue wire. There are 2 terminals on the lower left corner where the 4 is and this is where the yellow and violet w/stripe will go.

Bill The heat regulation on these units will be done via the infinite switch but there is a thermal limiter on the element as well. In this situation the element would be more likely to be the issue.

Len, the infinite switch DG44-01002A should have a total of 7 terminals. There should be a terminal labeled P1 for L1 wire, P2 for L2 wire, 2 for L2 out to the element, 4 for the inner coil, 4a for the outer coil, S2 for the surface on indicator, and S1 for L1 to supply terminal S2.

Gail for Model Number FE710DRS/xaa

My front left fast boil burner stays on high regardless of knob setting. I purchased from you part DG44-01002A, which is the correct part. I know that Samsung made some design changes to this part. The terminals on the new design are approximately twice as long as the original part, therefore, the wiring plug only covers about half of the terminal. I do not want to create an electrical or fire hazard. Does having half of the terminal post exposed create any type of hazard?

1 Answer

Gail, the infinite switch DG44-01002A is safe to utilize as per the manufacturer's design. There should be no issue as long as the terminals are secured as fully as possible.
