John, This error is not showing as being a valid error code and with having an erroneous error then this will be a faulty control board.

I'm getting an error code of E3 when my washer begins the wash cycle. It starts to fill the drum then the code pops up. I believe that is an "Overflow Code" caused by the washer no draining or filling too quickly. I unplugged the machine for 5 minutes and tried everything again. When I turned it on and started a wash cycle the washer started with a drain cycle to clear the drum....which worked fine. Then it began filling again and stopped with the E3 code. It did seem to have an increased water flow. Could it be the cold water valve?

1 Answer

G. Hackney, The E3 error code for this unit will be caused by a motor drive error or a faulty hall sensor. Check the motor drive connector, it may be loose. The hall sensor may be disconnected, loose, or damaged. Check for a foreign object inside the motor or motor damage. The stator might be loose or damaged. The drum might be overloaded from too many clothes or the relay or PCB might be defective.

House water meter continues to run when no water-drawing appliances are operating. Did some troubleshooting by turning off various cut-off valves and narrowed it down to the cold water supply line to the washing machine. Cold water seems to verrrrrrry slowly continue to flow into the washing machine after it is off. Connections are all fine. Guessing it is a malfunctioning water inlet valve, but I'd like a more informed opinion before going in that direction. In the past your advice has always been spot on. Many thanks, Art

Sean

So my washer was made in 2012 and have never had an issue until I had to replace the water pressure regulator at my house, was getting 100psi. Now its fixed and at 45psi. So now I'm getting the OE message on my washer. So, ran a hot quick wash and no error but tub continues to fill unless I turn cold water valve off. Tried another quick wash cycle with just hot water and cold valve closed and got NF message. So have to have cold water valve on all the time. Would this be a cold water inlet valve issue or a water level pressure switch issue.

1 Answer

Sean, if the valve continues to fill the tub with water after unplugging the washer power cord, the failure would be in the valve.

Rikki, If you are seeing dripping from the cold water valve then this would be faulty as long as hoses are tight and would need to replace the valve.

Chris for Model Number WF42H5200AP/A2-0000

I have been getting OE error with every wash cycle, and it happens at the same time - towards the end while the washing is filling for the rinse cycle. It seems that is just keeps filling until too much water, then OE pops up and the unit stops and alarms. I then have to turn off the washer, turn it back on and then run the rinse cycle. This is very consistent. Before I really understood the problem, I replaced the pressure sensor and hot water inlet valve. I realize that the hot water valve shouldn't have anything to do with it. What should be my next steps? I'm about the recheck the hoses.

1 Answer

Hello Chris. You will need to check for a drain pump issue. It is either clogged or bad on the unit. Thank you.

1 Answer

Hello Rich. The error is for a overflow error. Water is supplied continually because the water level detection does not work. - Because the drain hose is clogged and there is an injection error (at a narrow section), the water level detection does not work and water is supplied continually. - Water is supplied continually because of freezing or because there is foreign material in the water supply valve. - This error may occur when the water level sensor is degraded.

Hello Caser. No, it sounds like the harness or board may be bad on the unit that provides power to the valve. Also, make sure the unit is not siphoning water out.
