Tom February 25, 2023 for Model Number CAM2742TQ3 I have 7 of these commercial whirlpool washers. I have 1 that randomly won't spin the clothes. I check it and it wouldn't spin until I forced the basket to the right a few degrees. I changed lid switch several times and the clutch several years ago. When it was stuck it was pumping fine motor was not lugging down. I heard no grinding noises. I think it could be brakes or transmission? Thanks
Eddie H. April 24, 2020 for Model Number LSR7233EQ0 I replaced my Basket Drive on my LSR7233EQ0 (I think this machine is 22 years old), and also replaced the motor coupling while I was in the neighborhood. The basket drive kit came with a replacement clutch. My question is this, should I replace the old clutch that has 6 pads (looks like model Part #WP8299642) with the clutch that came with Basket Drive Kit (that has three pads)? I'm not having any issues with the spin cycle, on this machine, other than feeling that my clothes are a little damper after final spin than another machine I use. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Eddie, Since you are in there already I would go ahead and change the clutch. You will use the 3946792 WP3946792 blue spring from this kit for the model you have. Read More...

Tom March 01, 2018 for Model Number CAM2742TQ2 I have a Whirlpool direct drive commercial washer. Approximately once a month I get a complaint of soaking wet clothes. I test it all works fine. Spin and drain. I assume that it's the clutch lining. I order one yesterday. Any more ideas what it could be?
1 Answer Hello Tom. Make sure your drive block is not stripped out on the unit also. But this does sound like a clutch issue. Thanks. Read More...
John March 07, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore washer 11022996101 "The drum will not move freely. The brakes stop it from turning. If the clutch is new, then it sounds like the no spin is the transmission on the unit." Could you please explain? Is transmission bad or did I make a mistake in putting back the clutch? Please note that I had not powered up the washer and I was trying to rotate the drum by hand as a check. What do I need to do next? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello John. Try running the unit and see if it spins with the new clutch. If not, then the transmission may be the issue. You will not be able to turn the basket by hand due to the brakes holding it in place. Read More...
John March 07, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore washer 11022996101 My washer was not spinning. I replaced the clutch and as a check, I tried to move the drum by hand after assembling the washer . The drum did not move at all. I thought drum should be moving freely. Did I do something wrong in replacing the clutch? I had followed your video. Plastic nut problem was solved per previous mail. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello John. The drum will not move freely. The brakes stop it from turning. If the clutch is new, then it sounds like the no spin is the transmission on the unit. Read More...
John March 06, 2017 for Model Number Kenmore washer 11022996101 I replaced the clutch. After assembling the washer, I found that I can not rotate the agitator or drum either way. Did I do something wrong? Also, I have tighten the plastic nut (agitator retainer) on the upper agitator too tight which I had previously opened with 1/2 inch drive. Now I can not open it since 1/2 driver slips. What should I do to loosen and open this agitator retainer? Please reply ASAP. Thanks.
1 Answer Hello John. It sounds like you over tightened the agitator. You can try using some rubber or tape to out over the 1/2" opening, then insert the drive bar and break it free. This should keep it from slipping. Read More...

1 Answer Mike, sounds like the agitator cam and retainer are collapsed, distorted or installed incorrectly. If you can't get the socket down and onto the head of the bolt, you'll have to break or cut out the cam retainer and cam, then remove it and the agitator. Then attempt to remove the mounting bolt. You may need a new 285825 if you have to break or cut the retainer/cam. make sure you apply a dab of grease to the dogs, cam, and bearing surfaces if you do. Read More...
Michael January 22, 2017 for Model Number MVWC6ESWW1 When the machine spin cycle ends, loud bang and machine moves. I lifted lid while in spin cycle drum stops abruptly, loud bang and machine moves. Machine works fine all cycles work spin etc. I was told clutch is grabbing.
1 Answer Michael, The loud bang would be caused by the brake engaging and would recommend that the brake and drive tube to be replaced. Read More...

1 Answer Hello Bruce, The clutch assembly is available with the clutch drum as part number WP8299642. If the clutch drum is not needed and the basketdrive is needed, W10820043 can be ordered as it comes with the clutch lining assembly without the clutch drum. Read More...
