Robert May 20, 2013 for Model Number MSD2754AR I have a Maytag side by side refrigerator that the door will not close without pushing it closed. The door hits the sides of the refrigerator and stops. I have tried adjusting the upper and lower hinges, but that didn't help. It appears that the sides of the door have expanded outward. I also have a problem with the door trays falling out.
1 Answer Robert, Based on the information it sounds like the door is just out of alignment and you would want to adjust the leveling of the unit and make double check the hinge adjustment. 1 Answer Don, You will need to remove the refrigerator door. Remove the bins from the door and everything in the dairy compartment. Close the door and remove the hinge cover, and the three 5/16 in. hex head bolts, holding the top hinge to the referigerator cabinet. and remove, or turn the hinge to clear the cabinet. Open the door a couple of inches, be careful not to let the door twist or drop, and lift the door straight up off the lower hinge. Lay the door on a pad on the floor, on edge,handle down is easiest.Remove the screw holding the closer to the bottom edge of the door.
