1 Answer Kathy, To replace the filter housing, you will need to start by unplugging the dryer. Once unplugged remove the 2 or 3 screws on the top back that hold the main top in place. Once removed slide the main top toward the back and lift off. There will be 3 or 4 screws that hold the control panel in place. Remove and roll the front panel off. Once this is done remove the screws that hold the front panel in place and remove the front panel. Once the front panel is removed then there will be 4 screws that you will remove to take the front buikhead off and once it is removed you will be able to replace the filter housing. Read More...

Jane January 14, 2021 for Model Number WED70HEBW0 Check vent light keeps coming on. Lint screen is clean. Have vacuumed out lint trap area. Usually happens when using high heat or medium heat pre-set cycles. Oddly, when I use the timed feature and set my own time and heat selection, it's fine. Any ideas for fixing this?
1 Answer Jane, it would be recommended that the vent duct is cleared as it can cause this issue. If it is clear, the next step would be to test the outlet thermistor WP8557403 for resistance on the middle connector as it should measure 10KO at room temperature. If the outlet thermistor tests good, it would be likely that the main control WPW10542001 has failed. Read More...
Jane January 14, 2021 for Model Number WED70HEBW0 Timer is acting up... For instance, when I set the dryer to normal cycle (38 min), after a few minutes the timer will change to like 12 randomly. Of course at the end of the 12 minutes, the dryer shuts off and the clothes were not finished drying. What is making the timer be so screwy?
1 Answer Jane, it would be recommended that the sensor bars of the lint filter housing are cleaned thoroughly as it is common for softener residue to film onto the bars and prevent them from properly sensing moisture. Read More...

David December 09, 2013 for Model Number WED70HEBW0 A family member snapped off the lint screen doors for our dryer when attempting to extricate a stuck lint screen. When we fished out the broken door pieces, we only found one spring. Am I correct in assuming that each individual door has its own spring? Just want to make sure before I spend $20 on a little spring. Thanks!
