Louis November 12, 2012 for Model Number lsg9904aae My 12 y. o. washer sometimes leaves a small pool of water at the bottom of the drum after spin cycle. I changed the belt & pump and checked the hoses for obstruction, none found. The puddles seems to happen more often with large loads. Do I have to change the brake package too?
1 Answer Hello Louis, You should check to try to find the leak. It sounds like it may be coming from the tub seal 6-2040130. With washer filled with water and front panel off check under unit to see if you can detect the leak. Read More...

Chuck July 31, 2012 I have a Maytag washer, it just recently started to go off balance when it starts to spin. I tested it and even if there are no cloths it still does it. I put the washer on it's side adjusted the feet and made sure they were level, I noticed the belts were both very loose, Can this be the reason the Drum is going off center????
1 Answer Hello Chuck. No, you need to check and see if the snubber in the washer is bad and needs to be replaced. Read More...
Samuel D. July 10, 2012 for Model Number LAT9356AAE maytag washer I wanted to know what part I needed to order? My washer is working but when it goes to the rinse and spin cycle it stops. I have to pull the knob out and push it in myself for it to go into the cycle to finish the washing process ?
1 Answer Hi Samuel. If you can push in and out on the timer part # WP22003361 to get it to advance the cycle, then you need to replace the timer itself. Thank You. Read More...
Kevin July 06, 2012 for Model Number LAT8234AAE Burning smell coming from washer. Bought new belts from you and replaced. Still have smell and washer quits during rinse/spin cycle. Motor is hot to the touch. Seems like if I let the washer sit (maybe let motor cool off) I can restart the spin cycle and it will finish. Seems to be the motor. Just wanted to ask before spending $140. Thanks!!
1 Answer Hello Kevin. Yes, if there is nothing wrong with the tub bearing, then it sounds like the motor is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. Read More...
Dale June 06, 2012 for Model Number A105 Washer won't spin with a large load and there is a burned rubber smell, spins great with small load or no load at all. Checked belts and they looked good.
1 Answer Dale, Sounds and acts like a tub bearing 6-2040130 tub seal 6-2095720 issue, or a small article is stuck between the tubs, causing the tub to drag and the drive belt to heat up and produce an odor. You'll need a spanner wrench TB123B, but the time and expense may be worth it. We'll send you some basic information so you'll have a better idea of what to expect. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Bob June 03, 2012 for Model Number a308 No hot water...the hose is hot up to the mixing valve, but nothing in the tub.If I switched leads on the mixing valve and still no hot water would that not indicate a problem with the valve, panel switch or would it be the timer?
1 Answer Hello Bob. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Test for power coming to the water valve. If there is power there, and no hot water, replace the water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Randy May 24, 2012 for Model Number LAT8234AAE The washer started to get like a burned rubber smell to it with a little smoke haze. Would it be a possible belt problem or a motor issue?
1 Answer Hello Randy, This is most probably a spin bearing/outer tub seal issue. You see, when the tub assembly opposes rotation, the belt will start to slip because the motor is on a spring loaded slide assembly. To verify my hypothesis, let the unit go completely through the spin cycle then feel of the bottom of the outer tub beside where the transmission goes into the bottom of the tub. If it's hot, it's the spin bearing. If it isn't hot, take the belt off of the drain pump and turn it by hand. If it has something in it, it will oppose rotation. If it feels rough, it could either have a foreign object inside it or a bad bearing. Normally, the motor will have nothing to do with a rubber burning smell. If the motor is responsible for any smell, it will be an electrical burning smell. Read More...
John Colios May 20, 2012 for Model Number A9400 Thank you so much for your comprehensive answer on my old washer in Greece. Although we bought it here it is the full 220 volt 50 hz. export model. Could you update your answer with the correct parts that you advise keeping in hand? John
