Dan August 05, 2014 for Model Number MH6141XKB1 The inside of the door is discolored with a rust looking substance. Can the door be taken apart and cleaned? Can something inside be replaced? I see the door has been discontinued.
1 Answer Hello Dan, Since the cavity is not a serviceable part, all you can do is paint the inside of the unit. The door can be taken apart but this may require the replacement of the door choke 8171846 since it normally breaks during removal. Since it is no longer available and no satisfactory substitution has been provided by the manufacturer, I would not recommend dis-assembly. As a note, if you re-paint the interior, let the paint dry naturally. Running the unit to try to dry the paint quicker will bubble the paint and prevent it from properly sticking. Read More...
Abby May 11, 2014 for Model Number Whirlpool Gold model GH418XSS-1 This model does not have something to protect food splashing onto the screen/inside of the glass door.. Can I purchase a peel and stick film to protect the door? Which film would be the right part? Also, any suggestions on how to clean the door/screen? Thanks.

Rich May 20, 2012 for Model Number MVH250W How do I remove the seal tape and replace with new on an Amana? I asked the question already and it answered to go to the repair forum. No post has ever been entered. I have ordered the part and expected delivery within a couple of days. Is there a way to get an answer?
1 Answer Hello Rich, The way I do it may be unconventional, but it works. Heat the tape with a hair dryer and slowly peel the tape up as you continue to heat it. It will surprise you how easy the tape comes off once you get the edge peeled up. Read More...
