Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The bearing on the dryer drum wore out so bad the ball fell off   Thomas J. • Green Bay , WI • October 31, 2016

I replaced the ball and socket connection for the drum. After doing so, I realized that the belt had been stretched and the tension pulley was not putting enough tension on the belt to turn the drum. After ordering a new belt, extra screw that was lost while disassembling the dryer, and some high temperature lubricant for the drum ball and socket the dryer now runs as well as it did when it was new. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Spray arm was burning on the sides   Ruchik S. • Bronx , NY • October 17, 2014

The diffuser has something like a fan underneath that had gone separate from the body. The fan arms were chipped underneath. I thought that might have lead the spray arm to tilt and brush the heat coil, leading to melting on the sides. So, I changed the Diffuser & Lower Spray Arm. I think now the spray arm is parallel and staying above the heat coil. Hopefully it stays that way! Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The metal flanges on the heater element had worn away so that the rubber washer would not fit tight and leaked   Kenneth H. • Morgantown , PA • February 03, 2015

Replaced the heater element, per the video. Also had to connect a new terminal to one of the heater element wires. Once the heater was again connected electrically, the washer completed the entire wash cycle without hesitation. (During the time that the heater element was non-functional, the control "dial" would stop near the bottom, about half way through the cycle, and had to be advanced "one click" manually). The Heater Terminal Shield goes over the Heating Element Nut better if you... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dishwasher leaking from door.   Richard N. • South St Paul , MN • January 28, 2019

Ordered a new tub gasket and baffle seal. Baffle seal replacement required removal of the door. Not too difficult. Tub gasket replacement was easy until I tried to shut the door. The new gasket was a little thicker than the original. The door would not latch. I elongated some holes on the strike - still not enough. I removed some material from the latch mechanism (plastic) with a coarse file. This was enough to allow the door to shut and set the switch. For someone not handy, this would be... Read more
