The primary leak was the shaft seal around the main water valve shaft. After 15 years, it had failed. The repair was not difficult, but time consuming, since you should remove the dishwasher and lay it on its back. Holding the shaft out while forcefully applying the push-on nut was the only difficult part of the repair, since the push-on nut is very tight and made of very strong metal. Replacing the spring allows the door to open and close as the manufacturer intended. I'm an amateur DIY. I replaced the filter gasket also as the 13 yr old one was looking pretty shabby. It's not an exact replacement, and I did break one of the plastic pieces that is part of the hold down assembly. For the filter gasket -- look at the aluminum piece on the grommet that holds gasket in place, bend that carefully and remove it so as not to break the plastic that holds it down. Read more

I had to replace the 3 terminals and try to put them in the new terminal receptacle. I replaced the lid switch because I broke the old one trying to diagnose the problem. I found the helpful video on this site after I had already started. Read more
