I had concluded that the igniter was going bad and ordered a new one. I also watched the video on how to replace the ignitor. The video explained that after you removed all the screws to the burner assemblies, you needed to lift the range top and replace the ignitor. The Harness Switch is an OEM replacement part for GE gas ranges. Internally wired to the electronic control board, it regulates power distribution to the burner ignitors. When a surface knob is turned, the switch instantly routes electricity enabling the igniter to spark and ignite selected gas jets beneath cookware. Integrated temperature sensors then signal switch maintained burner activity. Causes of failure relate to standard thermal cycling without damage. Turned the breaker off for the range. Lifted the range out of the countertop. Unplugged the range from the wall. Removed the gas knobs. Removed the grates. Removed the burner assemblies. Removed the machine screws that hold the top and bottom together. Disconnected the old wiring harness. Installed the new wiring harness. Reassembled. Plugged in the unit. Replacing head burner d solved the problem. The 8 year old original developed a mild warp, replacing it was the solution. GE gas cook top Model JGP933SEK1SS. I replaced the other burner caps for a cosmetic renewal. Read more
Replaced ignition harness and bad gas valve. Parts came quickly and correctly as expected. The actual replacement of parts wasn't hard but it was difficult to get to the valve bolts. Read more

Physical appearance by replacing burner caps and burner grate. My wife is a cleaning machine. Only probelm is the grates and caps get slight burn marks on them that are hard to clean. I may try your ceramic cleaner to see if that works better than elbow grease. Read more
