The Control Board is an OEM part designed for Whirlpool refrigerators. As the main circuitry component, the control board contains microprocessors, sensors and internal wiring to precisely regulate interior temperatures and all cooling operation cycles based on user settings. 

Causes of control board malfunction include moisture damage from spills over multiple years of use. Exposure to dust or changes in humidity levels inside the fridge can potentially disrupt sensitive electronics as well.
