Before you begin…

This is a super quick and easy job. You don’t need any tools to get it done, but there is a little bit of prep work involved.

Start by clearing off any food you’ve stored on the shelf directly above the crisper drawer. Place it in a cooler for the time being and add some ice if you’re worried about food spoilage. You may want to also clear off any higher shelves if you think you might accidentally knock them, but it’s not necessary. While this job shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete, you will be working with the fridge door open. So, you may still want to also move anything you think might spoil, such as medications, to a cooler with some ice.

Replacing a crisper drawer cover

1. Remove the crisper drawer and then the meat drawer to give yourself ample room to work. You don’t need to take anything out of these before doing this.
2. Reach under the old crisper pan cover and press up with your fingers on the glass shelf. This should pop it out of place. You can remove it and set it aside. Now would be a good time to wipe that glass down and get it clean!
3. Lift up on the front end of the old crisper pan cover to release it from its retaining tabs, then pull it out of the refrigerator.
4. Align the slots on the crisper pan cover with the pins on the refrigerator, and then lower down the front of the cover until the retaining tabs click into place.
5. Put the glass shelf back in place on top of the crisper pan cover. Make sure it’s seated properly.
6. Put the meat and veggie drawers back into place, move anything you removed from the fridge for this job back into place. You’re all done!
