  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat blade screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Towel
  • Bucket

Safety precautions

  • Always power off and unplug your appliance or switch off the circuit breaker before attempting any maintenance or replacement work. This keeps you safe by preventing any risk of injury from electric shock.
  • Turn off the water supply at the outlet before beginning repairs to any appliance parts that hold water. Have towels ready for any residual water in the system when removing parts.
  • Wear insulated work gloves to protect your hands from sharp metal parts, pinching hazards and debris.
  • Don’t test wiring with a multimeter for live voltage if you’re unfamiliar with how to prevent short circuiting when testing.
  • When working with wires, avoid touching any exposed wires or terminals. If you need to touch a wire, use a non-conductive tool or wear insulating gloves to prevent electrical shock.
  • Take your time and don’t rush while working to prevent accidents and personal injuries.
  • Work in a well-lit area so you can clearly see and access the interior parts.
  • Clear your workspace of clutter and other obstacles. Keep children and pets away from the work area.
  • Never work on internal parts with bare wet hands. Make sure the work area is completely dry.
  • Check your user manual to see if there are specific installation or safety instructions for your part or appliance.
  • Be gentle when handling or removing parts. Excessive force might damage the appliance or cause injury.
  • Wear safety glasses when working with chemicals, dust or cleaning large debris to prevent injury.
  • If the appliance has recently been used, give it plenty of time for any heating parts to cool down before working on it.

  2. After removing the screws, pull the top plate off the washer.

  4. Pop off the clips on the top of the control panel starting from the top and lift the control panel off. Place it on the top of the washer.
  5. Open the door of the washer and use a flat blade screwdriver to pry out the outer door gasket clamp.

  12. Use pliers to move the drain hose clamp up and remove the drain hose from the pump case. Then, remove the hose on the right.
  13. Place a towel or a bowl underneath the pump to catch any water. Use pliers to squeeze the clamp and remove the hose from the pump case.
  14. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws above the filter. Push down on the locking tab at the base of the washer.  Slide the pump case assembly back to remove it.
  15. Disconnect both wires on the left side of the pump case assembly. Note the wire colors (black goes to L, brown goes to N) and remove them from the clip.
  16. Turn the pump case assembly around and release the wires from the clip. Disconnect the two wires on the right side (blue goes to L, black goes to M).

Installation

  1. Take the new pump case assembly and slide the drain hose onto the port. Install the filter into the new pump case.
  2. Transfer the drain pump from the old pump case to the new one. Make sure the screw goes into the same position as it did on the old pump case. Secure it with the Phillips screws.
  3. Clean the drain pump with soapy water and dry it off. Install it into the new housing and secure it with the Phillips screws.
  4. Unscrew the three Phillips screws and remove the circulation pump from the old pump case. Make sure the screw goes into the same hole on the new pump case. Clean the seal area and place the pump into the pump case. Secure it with the three Phillips screws.
  5. Place the pump case assembly inside the washer with the small drain hose under the pump case and pull it through the opening in the front. Slide the pump case foot into the bracket and push it forward to lock it in place. Secure the pump case assembly with two Phillips screws.
  6. Install the two top hoses onto the pump and secure them with the clamp using pliers. Slide on the hose on the right. Install the drain hose and secure it with the clamp using pliers.
