Tools needed
- Flathead screwdriver
- Phillips screwdriver
- Heat gun
Safety precautions
- Always power off and unplug your appliance or switch off the circuit breaker before attempting any maintenance or replacement work. This keeps you safe by preventing any risk of injury from electric shock.

Replacement steps
Disassembly
- Open the refrigerator door. Remove the top shelves to create space for disassembly.
- Insert a flat blade screwdriver into the openings in the front of the light lens.
- Press the locking tabs with the screwdriver and pull down on the lens to remove it.
- Unscrew the light bulbs by turning them counterclockwise.
- Locate the two screws that hold the light frame in place.
- Use a Philips screwdriver to unscrew and remove the two screws.
- Drop the front of the light frame down and pull the rear tabs out.
- Press the locking tabs and disconnect the two wire plugs.
- Take the light frame assembly to a work table.
- Push in the tabs on the sides of the heat shield.
- Lift the heat shield up and slide it out of the two rear retainers.
- Use a heat gun to heat up the touchpad surface without melting it.
- Start peeling the touchpad off the frame using a flat blade screwdriver, being careful not to break it.
- Remove the three Philips screws that secure the display control board.
- Carefully remove the display control board together with its frame.
Installation
- Insert the display control board assembly into the new light frame.
- Push the assembly in until it locks into place.
- Secure the display control board with the three Philips screws.
- Install the heat shield under the two rear retainers.
- Press down on the heat shield to lock the tabs.
- Bring the light frame assembly back to the refrigerator.
- Reconnect the two wire plugs.
- Insert the rear tabs of the light frame into the cutouts in the refrigerator.
- Lift the front of the frame up and align it with the screw holes.
- Secure the light frame with the two Philips screws.
- Carefully place the touchpad overlay back onto the frame.
- Install the light bulbs by turning them clockwise.
- Install the light lens with the two rear tabs into the cutouts.
- Press the lens up to lock it in place.
- Reinstall the top shelves. Close the refrigerator door.
- Plug the refrigerator back in. Test the refrigerator to check for any problems.
