While we strive to offer helpful advice for DIY appliance repairs, variations in models and configurations can lead to differences in troubleshooting steps, error codes and part replacements. For the most accurate guidance, we strongly recommend consulting the technical sheet for your specific appliance model.
What does the door seal do?
The flexible door gasket/seal is usually made of rubber and creates a tight seal between the outer tub and the front door panel of your washing machine. Over time, repetitive opening and closing of the door can cause the gasket to develop cracks or holes, which can allow water to leak out during the wash cycle. It’s important to replace a damaged door gasket as soon as possible to stop the leaking and prevent potential water damage to your floors.
