    This recall involves LG slide-in and freestanding ranges with front-mounted knobs. The model number is located inside the oven door or on the storage drawer at the bottom of the oven. These ranges were manufactured in Mexico and Korea.

    Safety remedy instructions

    Consumers should take the following precautions:

        • Contact LG to obtain a free warning label and instructions on proper placement.
        • Engage the Lock Out/Control Lock feature on the range control panel to disable the heating elements when the range is not in use.
        • Keep children and pets away from the range knobs.
        • Always verify that the range knobs are off before leaving your home or going to bed.
        • Do not leave objects on the range when it is not in use.

      Incidents and injuries reported

          • 86+ reports of unintentional activation of the front-mounted knobs.
          • Involvement in more than 28 fires.
          • At least five fires resulted in extensive property damage exceeding $340,000.
          • At least eight minor injuries (including burns) have been reported.
          • Three fires have been reported that involved pet fatalities.
