Jim for Model Number Samsung dv328agw This propane gas dryer seems to run forever in any sensor dry mode, way past when the clothes are already dry. Time dry works fine. I pulled out the sensor bars and tested the resistance; 0 ohms open and about 175,000 ohms with a damp rag across the bars, and this is after I cleaned them. I've read that the resistance should be only about 1000 ohms. Is there a way to determine if it just needs new sensor bars, or whether I need to replace the main control board? It seems like there's really nothing to these bars; they're just metallic strips and I can't see how they would fail.
Answer Hello Jim, The sensor dry or "auto dry" cycles always fail due to a crimped, clogged, or excessively long and complicated exhaust duct. Try the auto cycle with the unit dis-connected from the duct. If it advances after five minutes, the issue is with the duct and not with the dryer.
