Tom Polk for Model Number ARG7200W I replaced the front two burner igniters a few years back on an Amana range ARG7200W. Recently those two stopped sparking. I switched the wires at the igniters from front to back. The two front ones started working and the back ones didn't. That tells me the problem is not the igniters themselves. So the problem must be the wire or the igniter module. Knowing the igniters to be good, , I switched the front and back wires at the module. Again, the working and non-working burners switched. That confirms either one wire on each side of range is bad or the module is bad. Each side of the range has a black wire to one burner and a white wire to the other. With the front burners lighting, to test the wires I switched the white/black pairs to white/white black/black. Then the back burners lit, but the front ones wouldn't. Assuming the wires are good, this would indicate a bad spark module. Before I spend $50 on a new module (pretty much unobtanium) I have two questions: 1. Is my diagnosis methodology correct? 2. What is the downside to splicing/combining the wires per this YouTube video? This is the same range I have. He even bought a new module and it still didn't work withiut the splicing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPDA77IS4xo
Answer Tom, With the unit not working on 2 burners and it will switch then it would be recommended to test the igniter switches on the valves for continuity. If the switches are good then the issue will be the module. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 20, 2021
