Read the troubleshooting guide and followed video directions to test parts most likely causing problem. Determined cause was indeed thermal fuse. Found that when I removed the front panel of the dryer a huge amount of lint had clogged up the impelled over the years. This coincided with the info in the troubleshooting section. Ordered parts Sunday and they arrived Wednesday before noon! Took about 45 minutes to carefully replace dryer thermostat kit parts and reassemble unit. Word of caution..be sure all the wires are firmly seated on their respective connectors before closing unit. I had to pick up top panel again to reseat a wire. Dryer would come on but wouldn't run without holding in button. Traced wire back to timer and found wire not properly seated. I am a 50+ lady and this repair was a piece of cake and well within my budget. I am extremely pleased!
