I bought 4 repair kits for the connectors due to the deteriorated condition of the front two. I watched the repair video on the website and completed the replacement of all four connectors in about an hour. Concerning the video, using a butane lighter to shrink the heat shrink tubing is bad form and potentially dangerous and I was surprised to see it used. The underside of a stove top (especially a well used one) is often greasy and a lighter used there is a potential fire hazard. With a little patience a regular hair dryer will shrink the tubing or, of all things, a heat shrink gun will make quick and safe work of it. The other thing I did that wasn't covered in the video was to burnish the contact ends of the heating elements so that they could make good contact with the new connectors. Mine were badly corroded by arcing in the old connectors. My wife reports that I did a good job of it as all four elements now work exactly as they were designed to do, that is to say properly. Not rocket science by any stretch of the imagination, but when the wife is happy, everybody is happy! Only tools need was a Phillips #2 screwdriver, a wire cutter/stripper combo and of course a heat shrink gun.
