At first I thought the timer went bad. Ordered one and replaced the old one but our Whirlpool washer did the same thing. Called AppliancePartsPros.com, spoke to a representative and she suggested trying a new lid switch. Also I was able to return the new timer which was great. Received the new lid switch, installed it and the wash machine works fine. I think my dear wife is trying to wear it out? I might add I received both parts I ordered within one day. I appreciate the help the technicians gave me as I am not the Maytag man but am pretty handy with machines. ApplicancePartsPros.com are reliable with fast service and I would recommed them to anyone who wants to try to repair their appliances.However, don't expect the technicians to know everything about every appliance as their are thousands of different models and makes.
