Description

A small metal split pin that secures shafts, linkages and other components to keep parts from sliding off while allowing easy removal for service. Simple, durable hardware used in many appliance assemblies. What it does:

• Holds shafts, levers and fasteners in place to prevent unintended movement or disassembly
• Keeps nuts, washers and linkages from backing off under vibration
• Common symptom: loose, missing or damaged pin causing rattling, wobble or detached parts
• Replaces worn or bent pins that no longer lock components securely

What's included: One cotter pin. Install notes:

• Disconnect power (or gas) and follow appliance safety procedures before servicing
• Access the pin by removing the appropriate panel or assembly per your model's service instructions
• Remove bent or damaged pin with pliers; spread the split ends to free and slide the new pin into place, then bend the tails as required to secure
• Replace with an identical pin size and type; discard severely corroded or deformed pins
