1 Answer Hello Doug. Unplug the power to the unit. Remove the back panel cover inside the unit. Access the cold control. You will need to run the capillary tube on the new control in the same location as the old one. Install new part in reverse order of removing the old part from the unit. Read More...
Karen January 12, 2014 for Model Number MFU14F1EW2 The freezer recently seems to be functioning normally - but isn't cooling enough to keep food frozen. I can't find any temperature control to adjust the cooling level. Any thoughts?
1 Answer Hello Karen. Make sure the door gasket is sealing good. The control is on the back wall. If it is frozen over, you have a defrost issue that will need to be repaired. Also, make sure the fan motor is running good in the unit. Read More...
Henry V. December 14, 2013 for Model Number Frigidaire freezer MFU14F3GW5 Upright freezer, approx. 12 years old, stopped running. Confirmed power source good. No frost buildup. When cut temp control off, then turned back on, freezer ran and took temp down to freezing, then cut off. Could not get to restart this time from temp control. Not hearing click or any indication of compressor trying to start. Temp control most likely failure?
Matt August 26, 2013 for Model Number MFU14F3GW8 The freezer gets cold, 0° to 10°, but runs continuously for six to eight hours then shuts down completely. I have to turn the reset switch on the back to start it again. The temp control was set at 5. I thought perhaps that was too cold so I set it at 4 and then 3 but it still ran continuously.
1 Answer Hello Matt. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the temp control is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
