Adrian for Model Number ZET857SB1SS

I've ordered two replacement hinges but I thought I would inspect how I access the current hinges to remove and replace them. I didn't realize there was a mains power micro switch (WB24X10098) behind the plate I was removing and I shorted it. However, nothing seems to be broken so I'm wondering if the short didn't actually damage anything beyond blackening a bit of the mounting plate where it touched. What does the switch do? What should I expect to not work if I damaged the switch?

Hello Adrian, The main power switch directs voltage to the circuit chosen by selecting the function desired. If the unit is still working, consider yourself lucky since this switch WB24X10011 is no longer available and no satisfactory replacement has been provided. As a note, any time service is to be performed on any appliance, for your safety always unplug the unit or turn off the breaker and verify no power is present before beginning service.

Hello Michael, You are correct that you will need four WB10X10078 for the model provided. You will need to pull the unit at least 6 inches to perform this repair. If you do not feel comfortable, it can be hired out but it is not that difficult.

Hello Lyonsden, This can be caused by the door hinge WB10X10078, the hinge receiver WB10X10028, or the door liner WB55X10660 which can become bent from excessive weight applied to the door when opened. You can tell if the door liner is at fault by laying a straightedge from top to bottom on the door liner in the hinge area. If it does not lay flat, the door liner is bent. If it lays flat, the hinge or hinge receiver will be at fault. The hinges should always be replaced as a pair.

Ed, For the reason the door does not close all the way due to the hinge would be an issue of the spring just giving out. The spring do not come separately and you would have to get the entire hinge. The part number for the hinge is WB10X10078 and is the same for all the hinges.
