However, Temp control from refrigerator is not cooling - it runs all the time and doesn't shut off. It is still freezing up in the freezer. Any helpful hints, for troubleshooting or diagnostic. 1 Answer Janet, A model number is pretty important, we can assist you better with it. In the mean time, check the back wall or floor of the freezer for a frost or ice build up, this would indicate a defrost problem, and would restrict the air flow to the refrigerator compartment. Being an older machine, you want to check and make sure the evaporator fan motor runs properly and circulates the air in both compartments. Then check the damper control and linkage to make sure the damper which controls the air to the refrigerator, is opening and closing as adjustments are made at the control knob. Read More...
Rob August 13, 2013 for Model Number mtx18gasjrww As soon as i plug in unit it kicks the breaker but if i turn the thermostat to off i can plug it in and it will not pop breaker and i have changed thermostat control and still the same problem i see to be getting about 30 ohms to ground from big prong on plug to ground when thermo switch is on but goes open when its off?
