For Lg Refrigerator Run Capacitor (Part Number: OEM17931120)

Dave for Model Number LG Refrigerator LSXS26326S

Had a power spike a couple days ago (wind storm), since then the freezer thawed out with the temp going above freezing. I reset the fridge by unplugging for 5 min. Now, both the refrigerator and freezer are producing cold air, however the freezer isn't as cold as it should be. The set temp is -2 degrees yet it barely freezes water. There are no error codes showing and the motor and compressor seem to run normally. Could it be a temp sensor or capacitor?

1 Answer

Dave, It will definitely not be the capacitor causing this issue and could be a temperature sensor. You would want to check the frost pattern of the evaporator to see if it is frozen over or if there is little to no frost on them. This could also be an issue of an inefficient compressor or sealed system leak.

Sonny for Model Number LSXS26386D/02

Hello sir, I have a LG LINEAR INVERTER refrigerator that is not cooling at all. The compressor seems to be running since it is vibrating, and the condensing fan is running as well. I can't seem to find the rest of the parts that I thought could be the culprit. Can you provide me the part number of the defrosting sensor, defrosting fuse and if there's other parts you think I should replace. I also looked at the mother board and there's no error or blinking lights taking place. And finally, where exactly is the defrosting sensor located. I have a side-by-side door refrigerator. Maybe you can send me a video on how to remove and locate the defrost sensor. Kindly advise and thanks. Sonny model number is LSXS26386D/02

Sonny, the evaporator sensor EBD61246710 and the defrost heater/fuse assembly 5300JB1114Z would be used with the model provided and are common causes for an evaporator being blocked up with ice. The evaporator is located in the freezer section behind the back cover.

If both sections are not cooling you likely have a sealed system issue and will need to contact an EPA-certified technician to repair.

Narendra for Model Number Kenmore Elite refrigerator Model No. 795.74023411

My Kenmore Elite refrigerator stops cooling for few hours (the refrigerator temp. goes above 60degree and freezer also stops and then starts cooling after a day automatically for few hours. The Compressor has been changed last year. And seems working. I purchased the main board from you and changed it. still it is not cooling as it should be. What problem do you think it has? Does the run capacitor can cause this or something else? Please advise. If you want to call me, my mobile no. is (718) 536-8612. Thank you,

1 Answer

Hello Nerendra, your ref model does not use a run capacitor, it has a linear compressor controlled by the main control board. Since the sealed system has already been worked on once with a new compressor, suggest you contact the servicer who installed it to inspect the ref as this sounds like another sealed system problem.

Jeremiah, There is a fuse located on the main control board and to get the fuse you would need to replace the main board.

Miguel, It would not be the capacitor or the compressor would not run. You will want to remove the rear panel in the freezer and check the coils. With the compressor running you should have a frost pattern on the top of the coils to bottom. If you only have a small portion of frost on the coils with the compressor running then you have either a sealed system leak or faulty compressor that will not pump and you will need a certified refrigeration tech to finish the diagnosis.
