Ron June 10, 2013 for Model Number lan091hnp I purchased this 6871A20901C PCB from you. The problem is the unit still won't run. The indoor unit starts up, all the louvers over and the indoor fan starts running nut as soon as the compressor kicks on the outside unit the indoor unit beeps once and the whole unit (indoor and outdoor) turns off as if someone pushed the power off button where all the louvers slowly close on the indoor unit and just turns off. It's not like a power loss where everything stops and thing remain open. This happens within seconds of the compressor kicking on. So, i'm not sure if it's this new board that is the problem or something else. Should I return the board to you for a new one or doens't this sound like the problem? Is there something I can test to determine what is happening? One more side note, everything is wired in the same locations as the old board, do you know if any of the circuitry changed from the original board to this board. The unit was installed in 2006.
1 Answer Ron, You will first want to check the terminals on the compressor with the wires disconnected for resistance. Check from Red start, blue is common and black is run. You will check from Run to common, start to common and run to start. Run to start should equal within 10 percent of run and start to common. If not then the compressor is bad or if any of them are open then the compressor is bad. If the compressor checks ok then you will want to check the capacitor for being faulty. Read More...
