The Riser is an OEM part for GE electric dryers. It is a vertical stand located at the rear of the dryer that elevates the appliance for proper airflow and venting. The riser ensures the dryer exhaust can efficiently exit out the back of the machine.
Causes of a bad riser can include cracks or breaks developing from the repeated lifting of the dryer for cleaning or maintenance. Over time, normal usage and weight of the dryer can also cause weakening.
