Sean February 07, 2024 for Model Number 665.16589200 This is a Kenmore dishwasher. There is a leak under it that is dripping from what turns out to be the thermistor - Thermister WP8269208 / AP6012293. To the best of my knowledge, the washer works fine - it just drips from where this thermistor connects. It appears that the rubber washer has degraded. It's this washer - O-ring or whatever - available separately from buying the entire thermistor?

Linda November 27, 2020 for Model Number whirlpool GU2400XTPS5 My thermistor has droplets of water coming off of it. I've located the part -WP8269208. I'm wondering if this is a part that can be replaced without special tools? It might be connected to a pump and I'm wanting to do this repair myself.
1 Answer Linda, No there are no "special" tools needed to replace the WP8269208/WP8269208 Thermister. Here's a little help " The thermistor can be removed from the sump by turning it ¼ turn counterclockwise and pulling it out(make sure the power to the dishwasher is removed, have a couple of rags handy to catch any water that will leak from the sump). The thermistor can be removed without removing the sump assembly from the tub. Access to the thermistor can be gained by removing the access and toe panels while the unit is in its installed position. Thanks, Read More...
Gary October 27, 2020 for Model Number KUDM01TJBT0 dishwasher has no power. Checked power to unit OK. Checked continuity on thermal fuse & high limit thermostat both checked good. The thermistor did not. Would this cause a total power outage? Any ideas
1 Answer Gary, Remove the console and the control board from inside the console. If you find a black or dark color substance in the membrane switch [green harness on control] then it is shorted and would need to be replaced. The part number would depend on the color. Read More...
Tim January 02, 2020 for Model Number WDF760SADW2 My Whirlpool dishwasher doesn’t seem to be heating up the water, so not cleaning properly and leaving a smell. I’ve checked the heating element which is fine, as well as the high limit thermostat which is also fine. What could be the next problem to look at? I don’t see a thermistor at the bottom of it, so not sure if this model has one. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Tim, There are three more parts in that circuit. These are the door switch WPW10653840, the control board W10854220, and the wiring harness W11027902. These should all be checked to determine the issue. Be aware also that if the unit is not properly leveled and secured under the countertop, the door switches may not be "making" electrically when the door is closed. Read More...

Terry March 09, 2019 for Model Number 665.17059402 I have a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher that stopped working after the wash cycle. It would pump out, but the rinse cycle wouldn't start and the control buttons locked up. I replaced the main control board but that didn't solve the problem. I have completely gone through all components checking resistance, continuity, freedom of operation, etc. and all checked out fine except the wax motor (vent) resistance is about 25% high. I don't believe this is the problem. I thinking thermistor even though the resistance was right on at room temperature. Do you have any thoughts on my problem and would you have a temp/resistance chart for the thermistor (Part # WP8269208) Thank you. P.S. My incoming hot water runs hot about 160 degrees F.
1 Answer Terry, your incoming water temperature seems rather high. Thermister readings at 77 degrees is 48-52K, as it gets hotter, the resistance number drops, at 140 degrees it should read 12-13K. Have you tried running error codes on the display? Sometimes a thermister will read good at room temperature but once it heats up, the numbers can be off. Read More...
Peggy P February 25, 2019 for Model Number GU2500XTPS6 Is it possible to replace the thermistor without removing the dishwasher from the cabinet? And how does this one (WP8269208) connect to the sump?
1 Answer Peggy P, the thermister is located on the sump/motor assembly. It should be possible to replace it without removing the dishwasher, but, it would be easier to pull it out and work on it. Read More...
