This air vane is a genuine MTD part and a genuine OEM part. This air vane can be used as a replacement part for snowblowers and lawn and garden equipment engines. The function of the air vane is to maintain precision tension in order to keep the small outdoor appliance engine running. Air vanes may be replaced during the process of basic engine maintenance. If there is an issue with the precision tension of the snowblower, lawn mower, or other appliance at hand, there might be a problem with the air vane. At first, attempt to tighten the spring of the air vane, as it might have naturally come loose with time. If that does not work, a replacement might be necessary. Air vanes are subject to damage simply from long-term usage or exposure to the elements. If there is visible damage to the air vane, action should be taken immediately to replace it if continuing to use the appliance. Continued use with a damaged air vane will be at the risk of expense to personal property. Remember to always wear gloves when handling, repairing, and operating outdoor equipment.This air vane is also compatible with the brands Tecumseh and Toro.
