This genuine Midwest Engine carburetor combines the air and the fuel at the correct ratio and filters that combination into the engine through a series of valves. This fuel combination is what the spark plugs ignite in the engine to run the outdoor appliance. Symptoms of a malfunctioning carburetor can include black smoke pouring out of the exhaust, significantly reduced fuel economy, difficulty starting the engine, a frequently stalling engine, or oil leakages from the location of the carburetor. If these symptoms point directly to the carburetor, the carburetor needs to be removed and replaced immediately before the appliance is used again.
