I checked with Appliance Parts Pros.com and found out that the likely culprit was a broken Ice Dispenser Actuator Arm. I watched a video on the same site and figured I could change that part. I wanted to confirm it was that part so I took the front section apart. The Ice Dispenser Actuator Arm was in fact broken; the little tab that strikes the switch had broken off. This switch mechanism activates when you press the water or ice dispenser paddle on your refrigerator door. Replace if dispensers don't respond to paddle presses, work intermittently, or require excessive pressure to activate.
