The shave plate is located at the bottom of the auger to scrape snow off of surfaces and filter it into the auger of the snowblower.Damage to the shave plate might include cracks, dents, and erosion to the metal material, or it can gradually wear out and no longer be effective. Evidence of a cracked shave plate can come from a visual inspection, but it can also be detected if the snowblower is doing a poor job of collecting and scraping snow off of surfaces. This is a simple extension spring with an outside diameter of 0.38 and a slack length of 2.5. It is primarily used as an extension spring for snowblowers, but may be compatible with other lawn equipment. It’s designed to apply tension as the throttle is applied. The more gas there is, the more resistance will be present. Under most circumstances, replacement is easy. When the spring breaks or gets rusty, look at both points of attachment. Memorize where it’s attached, or take a picture, and remove the old spring using a pair of pliers if necessary. Install the new spring and the tool is ready to use.
