This is a double burner grate for a gas range. The purpose of a burner grate is to provide a stable surface for cookware to sit while cooking. The cookware sits on top of the burner grate while the fire burns beneath it to heat up whatever is cooking. While the replacement process is simple, allow plenty of time for the grate to cool down prior to attempting to replace it. A new burner grate will be needed if the original one becomes broken or lost. The grate could deteriorate over time with use. This part could become covered in oils or sticky residue if it is not routinely cleaned properly.
