Bought OEM replacement part. The new part had all the retaining clips that had broken off of old part. Needed new stick-on label to dress up the replacement shroud. Hardest part of the repair was disconnecting the wired module on back of old shroud. Feared I might snap off those retaining clips, too! My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. Panel has codes on it (S or 5 E CE, later that changes to S or 5 Y CE). Research of codes says replace main board and control board. Not sure where this main board is. 22 Sep call appliance repair. The plastic bearing broke after 7 years of too much opening and closing. Removing original bears were not real easy, however installing new ones were quick. It works well. The parts arrived really quickly. Read more
